About Radius

Governments inspect restaurants and publish the results — but that data is scattered across dozens of portals, written for regulators, and hard for a normal person to act on. Recalls are worse: split across two federal agencies and buried in press releases.

Radius fixes the last mile. We take official public data — city restaurant inspections, FDA and USDA food recalls — normalize it into one consistent model, and explain it in plain English so you can answer a simple question: is this safe enough for me right now?

What we believe

  • Safety information should never be behind a paywall.
  • Always cite the official source and the date it was last updated.
  • Never fabricate a grade — if a result is pending, it stays pending.
  • Keep the agency’s official grade or classification separate from our plain-English reading of it.
  • Be honest about limits — a good inspection or no recall is not a guarantee.
